Frank Ocean – Pink Matter (Remix) (Feat. Andre 3000 and Big Boi)

It looks like this is as close as we will get to an Outkast reunion. Big Boi adds a verse to Frank Ocean’s “Pink Matter”, a track that already features his other half, Andre 3000.

T.I. – Sorry (Feat. Andre 3000)

We get one of three verses a year from Three Stacks and the lead single from T.I.’s upcoming Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, which drops December 18th. Produced by Jazze Pha.

Rembert Browne Discusses Big Boi’s New Album and Andre 3000′s Legacy

For those of you not familiar, Grantland is Bill Simmons’ personal extension of ESPN. Launched in 2011, Grantland is home to some of the most talented sports and pop culture writers in the business (Chuck Klosterman, Chris Jones, too name a few). One of the most popular subsections of the Grantland website is it’s podcast content. Besides Simmons insanely-popular B.S. Report, Grantland is a place where other staff writers are able to host their own podcasts and discuss relevant topics on a weekly basis. Chris Ryan and Andy Greenwald host a weekly podcast, Hollywood Prospectus, where they discuss the most recent film and television news. Every once in a while they bring in up and coming writer Rembert Browne to discuss music news.

This week they discuss Big Boi’s new album and his song with A$AP Rocky, Andre 3000′s legacy and what’s in store for the future of Outkast. Really interesting/humorous analysis and discussion. Highly recommend you take a listen. Rembert Browne stops by the podcast at the 39:51 mark.

Frank Ocean – Channel Orange

One of the most anticipated albums of the year has finally arrived. It’s a week ahead of schedule, but this is probably the best way to avoid a leak and capitalize on all of the hype it’s built over the past week. Channel Orange features guest appearances by Earl Sweatshirt, John Mayer, and André 3000, and it’s one of the best projects I’ve heard in 2012. Stream the album on his Tumblr or download it now on iTunes.

Gorillaz – DoYaThing (Feat. James Murphy and Andre 3000) [Music Video]

We get visuals to a track that dropped a few days ago as a part of Converse’s “3 Artists, 1 Song” project.

Andre 3000 Confirms: No New Outkast Album

It’s a sad sad day. No Outkast reunion. However, there is an Andre solo album coming out later this year. So there’s that. Interview courtesy of GQ.

There’s been a lot of talk on the Internet about an OutKast album and I have to say that as of now, there are no plans for another OutKast album. There’s a lot of music on the horizon. I’ve been living off the excitement of new artists. I’ve been privileged to have these new artists kind of reach out and grab back and say, “Hey, Andre, we want you on this song.” So I’ve been taking those calls and for the last two years, I’ve been doing collaborations. So these new artists have kind of been keeping me alive. I’ve just really been feeding off of that and this year I think I’m planning to do a solo project. I don’t know when it will come out, but hopefully it’ll come out this year. As far as OutKast, I really don’t know if or when that will happen.

Gorillaz – DoYaThang (Feat. James Murphy & Andre 3000)

As part of Converse’s upcoming collaborative project involving a Gorillaz-inspired shoe, Andre 3000, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and the Gorillaz linked up for this track which will be available for download tomorrow. Check out the track on Listen Before You Buy.  Andre killed this. Can we get an Outkast album now?

Ke$ha – Sleazy (Remix) (Feat. Wiz Khalifa, Andre 3000, T.I. & Lil Wayne) [Music Video]

Ke$sha recruits some of the biggest names in the rap game to jump on “Sleazy 2.0″ or “Get Sleazier.” Interesting visual concept in which each artist on the track is played by some sort of altered ego. Can’t say I understand it, but it’s definitely a change of pace from the standard “rapper puffing on a blunt leading a posse of look-alikes” image.

B.o.B. – Play The Guitar (Feat. Andre 3000)

We get the second single from Bobby Ray’s forthcoming sophomore album, due out sometime next year.  Andre 3000 continues his 2011 cameo craze by laying down a verse and producer Salaam Remi samples T.I.’s voice for the beat.  Pick it up on iTunes.

Ke$ha – Sleazy (Remix) (Feat. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, T.I & Andre 3000)

I don’t care anymore.  No fucks (from me) are given about any of these featured rappers.  Yea sure I’ll take a listen when they release a new album or release a new single, but this isnt 2007-2008 anymore. Wouldn’t this title be so much more interesting if it read “Ke$ha – Sleazy (Remix) (Feat. A$AP Rocky, Chip Tha Ripper, Action Bronson & Logic)”? My friend BauceSauce put it best, “I now know when a song is about to be ruined when I hear Lil Waynes lighter spark towards the end of a hook”.
