Nas let loose the first single off of Common’s next album The Dreamer, The Believer via Twitter. Ever since Universal Mind Control came out, I’ve been looking forward to Common going back to his boom bap days. Common is back.
The people over at Fake Shore Drive stumbled upon this mixtape by No I.D.-led collective Cocaine 80s. The group consists of No I.D., Common, Steve Wyreman, Rob Kinelski, Kevin Randolph, James Fauntleroy, Makeba. As they said at FSD, this project kinda came out of nowhere. Definitely worth a download though, even if it is just for the Common x No I.D. collab track.

I’ve been waiting for new/unreleased Common ever since his last album, Finding Forever, dropped in 2007 (I’m not counting Universal Mind Control as music. I don’t know what that was). According to FSD, this was reordered during the Be recording sessions.

According to realhiphipsince79, this track was supposed to be on Common’s Finding Forever, with Kanye on the hook and Ludacris as a feature. Promise took this track and released his own version last night.
