Curren$y, Kweli, and Kendrick Lamar are your lyrical tour guides as they take you through their respective alma maters of New Orleans, Brooklyn, and Compton. I’m still pretty disappointed by this final product due to its soft chorus and short versus (unusual for these guys), but it’s starting to grow on me. Last night an unfinished track from Lil Wayne surfaced, titled “Celebrate”. Turns out it was a Weezy verse that is featured on this track featuring Mack Maine and Talib Kweli.

Backed up by The Roots, Fallon’s house band, my favorite duo in hip hop performs two tracks that will likely be featured on a forthcoming mixtape titled Aretha Black Star. They dedicated “Little Brother” to the song’s late producer, J. After debuting the verses on both Shade 45 and the Occupy Wall Street rally, Kweli releases the first single from his upcoming Prisoner of Consciousness, set to drop sometime next year. Featuring some very dope production and scratches from Oh No.

Talib Kweli and Yaslin Bey (formerly Mos Def) drop off two tracks during the Thanksgiving weekend. “You Already Knew” is set to be featured on the Aretha Franklin tribute mix Black Star Aretha. Black Star reunion album dropping in 2012.

Check out this new music video from Talib Kweli, featuring Jean Grae.  Hosted on MTVU, the video shows Kweli and Grae plotting and scheming, robbing houses in crazy masks, fucking people up with drills –all while keeping it classy with button downs and ties.  This is a song from Kweli’s album Gutter Rainbows, which was digitally released earlier this year.  Solid video to keep the fans at bay until his next album, Prisoner of Conscious, drops in the late fall.

Two days after the most hyped collab hip-hop album dropped, the blogosphere graces us with a track from the original hip-hop supergroup (not named Native Tongues). Not sure where exactly this Madlib-produced track is gonna land, but it’s rumored to be part of their comeback album.  Who doesn’t want some new Mos?
