Chance and his entourage came over a couple of weeks ago and someone mentioned a track that featured Chuck Inglish and Chip Tha Ripper. This person said it wasn’t going to come out because Chance bodied everyone on the track and the others didn’t want it released. Well it looks like it took the producers, Blended Babies, to get signed to Sony for the song to be liberated. In celebration of their singing, the Chicago production duo decided to drop “Bout A Dolla”, a song that was produced for The O’My’s and also featuring Twista.
We finally get the official video to one of the stand out tracks from The O’My’s latest project, Chicago Style. Directed by Robby Barnett.
The Chicago music scene (specifically hip-hop) has had a resounding resurgence over the past couple of months. Production duo Blended Babies have been right in the thick of it. Working with artists like Asher Roth, Rockie Fresh, Kids These Days, Chance The Rapper and Pac Div, they’ve established themselves as one of the most promising up and coming production teams. Last Friday they presented a project with another Chicago product, The O’My’s. If you listened to Asher’s Pabst and Jazz, you’ve heard The O’My’s (Blended Babies sampled them on “Ampersand”).
The project is definitely worth a listen, or two or three.
Perfect song for a Sunday afternoon. Chicago grabs their finest for this one. The O’My’s x Chance the Rapper x Nico Segal (from Kids These Days)? Yes please. Also, do we need anymore proof that the Blended Babies are one of the most talented up an coming producing duos out right now? Not sure what else they have to do make their mark. This is the second leak off their Chicago Style mixtape.
