Green Day’s got big things to come, with their plans set to drop three albums in four months beginning in late September. All three of the albums will be engineered by Rob Cavallo, co-producer of the band’s 1994 major label debut, Dookie. For the three albums, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tres! respectively, the punk rock trailblazers take a turn…and another…and then one more to finish out the superset. As frontman Billy Joe Armstrong described it:
“The first one is power pop, the second is more garage-y, Nuggets-type rock. And the third is supposed to be epic. With the first album you’re getting in the mood to party. On the second one, you’re at the party. And the third album you’re cleaning up the mess.”
If his description is at all accurate, then expect to see “Oh Love” on the first of the three, as the group clearly tones it down for this power pop track.
