At just 17 years old, Joey Bada$$ is making waves in the NYC rap scene. Yesterday he dropped off the newest visuals off of his outstanding 1999 mixtape. If you’re looking for a catchy hook, Joey isn’t your guy. Instead, he spits freestyles with a polished flow that inspires us to reminisce on the glory days of New York City rap. I think there’s something to be said for a kid who just completed his high school years and is already rapping on original beats from immortal producers like J. Dilla and MF Doom.
