Nardwuar vs. Trinidad James

The Narduwar x SXSW interview onslaught continues as the human serviette chats with “All Gold Everything” famed Trinidad James. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis crash the interview near the end and discuss watches. EXCITING.

The Strokes – Comedown Machine [Album Stream]

Tyler, The Creator Directs a Mountain Dew Commercial

The two year anniversary of SXSW ’11, in which the Odd Future frontman was hit in the face by a bottle of Mountain Dew, was this past weekend. Ironically, he’s now directing and starring in Mountain Dew commercials…but in his typically bizarre fashion, Tyler plays a fiending goat in the advertisement. Check it out above.

Vampire Weekend – “Diane Young” & “Step”

With Modern Vampires In The City, the band’s third studio album set for release on May 6, the NYC collective has been slowly leaking material for some time. Today we get their double A-side singles. “Diane Young” features a lively, horn-ridden instrumental with a surprising hint of swing, while “Step” sticks to the classic Vampire Weekend sound we all know and love.

Dash Hammerstein – Down Down Boy [Music Video]

Recent Skidmore graduate and current Brooklyn resident Dash Hammerstein releases “Down Down Boy”, the first single from his debut, self-produced project Bito Cabrito. We found out about this song/video last week and have been playing it ever since. It’s infectious. The visual, directed by Roland Smith for Nocturnal Media, is a great example of what a music video should be: cinematic, creative and outside the box. If you want to get more of an idea of Dash’s personality, check out the Kickstarter campaign he put on last year.

The vision of project is to present what it’s like for a young person in the modern age to transform from a “dependent” to an “adult.”  We all have a handful of our most cherished childhood memories, and frequently look back upon them as the building blocks of our identities.  This video explores the sacrifices we often make, and the memories we either consciously or unconsciously let fade, as we propel ourselves forward in life.  Our character is at the tipping point, torn between the comfort of the past and the anxious uncertainty of the future.

Lil Wayne – Rich As Fuck (Feat. 2 Chainz)

With I Am Not A Human Being II set to release on March 26th, we get the CDQ of “Rich As Fuck” featuring 2 Chainz. Make sure to head over to iTunes to pre-order.

Chance The Rapper – Good Ass Intro [Music Video]

With Acid Rap only six weeks away, Chance releases the third single in the form of “Good Ass Intro”. The video, directed by OJ Hays & Andrew Straw, features a cartoon-ized Chance rapping through his own acid trip. Featuring BJ The Chicago Kid, “Good Ass Intro” will only get fans more crazed for the April 30th release date of Acid Rap.

A$AP Ferg – 40 Below (Feat. Youth Is Dead) [Music Video]

We get a quick little video for Ferg’s track on the SXSW Social mixtape presented by DJ Whoo Kid. Our homie Youth Is Dead is featured on the chorus. Directed by Dan The Man.
