Western Massachusetts has been killing it recently. One of my favorite albums of the year was released by Amherst’s California X, Dinosaur Jr. has been fantastic since ever since they got back together in ’07, and now there’s a group from Northampton to keep an eye on. Speedy Ortiz released a great EP last summer called Sports, and the band’s newest single keeps that momentum going. “Ka-Prow!” was recorded by Justin Pizzoferrato (who also recorded Dinosaur Jr.’s I Bet on Sky) and will available on April 30.
