The Red Hot Chili Peppers released the artwork for their August 30th release, I’m With You, today. Finally, some new RHCP music. I can only play By the Way so many times. In terms of what’s different with this album, Flea explained when he talked to Stereogum, ““Well, there are a few huge differences. The number one difference is John Frusciante left the band, and he was a huge part of our creative process for a long time. I’m so grateful for him. He wrote the principal parts for many of our most popular songs, and the parts for many of our most artistically profound songs, which weren’t necessarily popular…”
And in terms of the album artwork, it looks like RHCP is going with open ended imagery.
“It’s an image. It’s art. Iconic. We didn’t give it it’s meaning but it’s clearly open to interpretation.” – Anthony Kiedes talking with Classic Rock Magazine
